Youth Futures (Inc) Employment (YFIE)

Youth Futures (Inc) Employment (formerly known as Accessing Opportunities - AO) is an employment placement service - similar in many respects to a job network agency. We also offer an entry point to increasing your skills.

What Sort Of Work Can You Get Access To?
We can provide a point of contact for seasonal and casual jobs such as:

  • orchard work - pruning, thinning and picking
  • vineyard work - pruning, wire-lifting, de-suckering and picking
  • forestry work - tree planting and fertilizing
  • meatworks
  • other farm and seasonal work

  • All positions are advertised on the Australian Job Search website but as our services are in high demand, it is best if you contact us as soon as possible if you are seeking work. We also often advertise in the local newspaper - The Examiner.

How Else Can We Help You?
Beyond the positions we have listed on the National Job Search Site, we also have limited access to training places, for more information read here. Youth Futures is often able to provide transport to and from work sites at a nominal cost using our minibuses. Also we can assist you liaising with employers, Job Networks, Centrelink and can provide support in other aspects of life to help you get a job and stay in it as long as possible.

    Who Can Use YFIE?
Initially our employment service was aimed at youth, but has since been expanded to include everyone. Anyone of working age (generally 16-65 years) seeking work is welcome to register.

We specialise in assisting young people, long term unemployed, indigenous people, people from non-english speaking backgrounds (including resettled refugees) and anyone experiencing disadvantage.

    Is There Any Cost?
No. There is no cost for our service. If you are getting transport on one of our busses there is a small charge to cover expenses. It is based on distance but is generally $6-$10 a day.

Sometimes you may be required to have specific clothing, such as sunhat, steel-toe boots and/or high visability vest. You will need to pay for these yourself unless you are registered with a job network (they will often pay for work related items). Some positions may require you to complete a medical (which will be deducted from your wage or paid by your job network).

Occasionally positions require a drug test, if this is a requirement (we'll tell you) you will need to pay $60 at the time of the test.

    How do I Register?
Registration is as simple as coming in with your resume and filling out a form. Alternatively email or fax your resume to us here.
